The last stage of editing was a pool of different emotions: excitement, anticipation, frustration etc. We would start working together after school and spend hours perfecting every little detail and stop in the evening or sometime at night. Our parents were shocked to see us working so hard on something they saw as a short video. But both of us being perfectionists, we just wanted to get everything right.  Sometimes we worked in the library of our school as well when we could find time: We went into every detail of the editing process. For examples the transitions we used were for a very specific purpose. We used the “dip to black” transition to cut between scenes as it was similar to an eye blinking and opening, which is what we wanted to convey, that our character was experiencing a dream and kept blinking.

 There was a lot of research into how social media pages for contemporary bands look. We used the application “Preview for Instagram” to plan our social media page layout.  We looked at social media pages of popular bands to see what kind of posts they had;

We created some posters for our Music Promotional Package promoting our artists The Dreamers and shared them on the social media platforms Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. 

 After production I sat down to research again and learn more about editing and gain inspiration from how dance genre music videos were edited:  We also researched into titles and fonts to come up with our title sequence, I was inspired by the director Mike skills used titles in his his music short film “I am easy to find.”

 These pictures are from several days of editing. We edited this music video for more than a month. As the laptop we were working on was mine, I worked on the sequence when zeeshan was not with me. When we were together we would make notes and discuss ideas of editing techniques as well as apply effects and make montages and sometimes Zeeshan would take the laptop home for days and colour grade.
