Postproduction: Editing (1)

Image
In the start I faced a lot of issues while importing all the footage, I started editing on final cut pro but quickly switched to Adobe Premiere Pro as it imported the footage without crashing. m I had to buy a new hard drive for all the footage. When the large amount of files finally started to import I was so relieved!

Post Production: Selecting and Dumping Footage

As the first step for editing the video we reviewed all of the footage one by one and renamed them, this took several days as we had a lot of footage

A FORTUNATE INCIDENT ON SET

Image
Our location was by a road and despite the many troubles this caused (people stopping by to watch us, cars passing by causing disturbances) a very lucky incident also took place! a horse herder who was travelling through this road on his daily route stumbled upon us and we quickly approached him to negotiate him into letting us use his horse, he agreed and for a small amount of money he gave us the horse for about 5 minutes in which we couldn’t set up our camera for shooting video but we quickly took some photographs to add to the still photography part of our video as quickly as we could. Lastly, the gentleman was in a rush because a customer was waiting for him so there was immense pressure on us to maximize the efficiency of our shots in a really short time.

Shoot day 4

Image
The make up for our outdoor look took quite some time, so we began shooting around 12 pm. Losing natural light was always an issue while working outdoors, we had to hurry every step.  we showed up early in the morning because of which there were many butterflies flying around which helped us take an amazing slow motion shot of a butterfly which was improvised on set this is from when zeeshan was operating the drone and taking the over head shot of harram  filming close up nature shots for b roll as it got later more and more traffic started to show up which really disrupted our shooting because the cars kept showing up in the background of our shots  we used walkie talkies to communicate because the area was very vast  i paid great attention to detail and set up each shot to the best of my abilities

Shoot day 3

Image
Our first day shooting outdoors. We starred shooting early in the morning to capture maximum sunlight but our shooting was quite time consuming and we used artificial light by the time it started getting darker. It was cold so whenever the camera wasn’t rolling our actress would wear her jacket. We carried the mattress to our location by my Vigo. We took all other necessities with us as it was quite far away from my house.  On this day our actress (Harram) brought her sister along with her just to watch and help her out  Due to the sunlight it was sometimes hard to see the viewfinder so we often covered our heads with jackets to view clearly

Shoot Day 2

Image
The second day of our shoot was on 16th January. Both our actors were present on this day. zeeshan and i built the whole set ourselves which meant drilling the nails by ourselves too

Shoot Day 1

Image
The first day of our production was on 15th January. On this day only Harram was available for shooting and we tested things out. T his was more of an experimental day, at first harram had worn jewellery in some scenes but after looking at some shots and rethinking some ideas i didn’t like that look so the next day we shot without her wearing jewellery, hence this day came in handy in allowing us time to change certain things.  we kept snacks and refreshments for the cast and crew as well as masks and sanitisers on set  we blocked out all natural light sources so we could make full use of the artificial lighting we had created

Visiting/Finalising Locations before Shoot Begins!

Image
The day before the shoot my partner and I had a final meeting and we also visited our locations for shooting a final time to make sure everything was in place and finalise it.
